Who owns the e-Portfolio?

Who owns these powerful learning tools known as e-Portfolios? We, the learners do, of course, IF they are used as they are intended, not just as regurgitation of assignments. According to Andrew Rikard, author of Do I Own My Domain If You Grade It?, we must "shift the emphasis from data possession to knowledge production." If we take ownership of the ideas we post on the e-portfolio as mentioned in the article, Who Owns the e-Portfolio, and if we continuously reflect and adjust, then the learning is ours, as is the e-Portfolio.

By creating, organizing, updating, and reflecting on my e-portfolio, I have not only gained a tremendous amount of knowledge, but also taken ownership of my creation. Personally, I don't remember the last time I learned this much, or had this much pride in my work.
